Sorry to say but you wont improve the handling, you will feel every bump, it will bounce around and you'll get tramlining, plus the extra unsprung weight will not help with general handling and braking on 20's.
On a perfectly flat track with ultra low suspension a 245/40/20 will improve cornering but this is not the case on the roads.
Put some 245/45/18's or just something a bit wider, with a similar profile and you'll get better grip without the problems you get with a larger rim.
