Hello all How mutch oil does my car burn?if im putting in too mutch i might have a problem?

Your car shouldn't burn any oil as such. It may use a little as time goes by but it shouldn't be alot.
You can in some cases cause damage by putting too much or too little oil in.
If your unsure how much oil your engine takes then get hold of a workshop manual for your car. (Like a Haynes Manual) That will tell you how much it requires.
Have you changed the oil recently?

How much are you putting in and how often? Mine is quite heavy on oil taking 1 Litre every few months or so.

im worried that useage of oil could result in ommisions falure in mot.I have put in half pint in 5 months.is that not bad or not good ?My last car an astra went througth 2 new cats in 2 years and used a lot more than this one thats why i am troubled about oil use.

hey welcome to the forum, i wouldnt say that half a pint in 5 months is a lot, you always lose a tiny bit of oil, its just the way an engine works

It's good job you don't have an RX8, you'd know the meaning of using oil then!
