- I have two cars. My Daily driver is a 2000 Ford Cougar 2.5 V6. This is pretty much unmodified, and I'm interested in getting a bit more performance without getting too radical (or spending a fortune. My other car in a 1978 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 that I've restored to a good standard, and also built and fitted a modified 355 CID small block and TH400 transmission. I built the small block from bare bones, after having it machined and tested for cracks etc. The compression was raised to 9.5 : 1 with hypereutectic pistons, fitted to balanced conrods. The block was bored to +10, taking the engine to 355 cid from the original 350 cid. There's a Comp Cams 270 lift cam and roller rockers, World Products series II heads with oversized intake and exhaust valves. The intake is a Holley Dominator, topped off with a modified 750cfm 4160 series Holley 4 bbl carb. Spark comes from a Holley annihilator Ignition system, coupled to an MSD coil and Mallory electronic distributor. Lube is through a high pressure oil pump, Timing from Cloys True Roller timing chain. The Transmission I again built from the empty casing, after buying it from someone who assured me it was good, I found that it wouldn't select gears. When I stripped it down, half the bits were in back to front, which I found to be a considerable acheivement!!!! The rebuild benefitted from B&M valve body and mods for quicker shifting, plus shifter kit that allows you to hold in whichever gear you selected, rather than allowing the box

Travelled around the world, both with the Navy, and in various jobs ever since. Married a girl from Zimbabwe while I spent time working there. We have a beautiful house there, which we try to visit a few times a year. Also the President of London Blitz American Football Club (Current UK National Champions and 2011 EFAF cup winners).
