1st car to mod,vaux nova 1.2 no cat, things I mod!
flowed intake air box/ knife edge butterfly /flowed carb entrance & exit ,inlet manifold left cos was perfect /gas flowed head / backed off valve & seat
angle /used ngk spark plugs / flowed exhaust manifold, put small radius on exhaust pipe to manifold, helps to cut down vortex, that slow gas flow into pipe !/changed timing to 10deg before tdc,now can benifit use of superplus unleaded? setup engine on rolling road ! (40 in 1st)(70 in 2nd)(93 in 3rd)(110 in 4th),believe it or not ( 1.6L & 2.0L cars couldnt keep up with me ! WOW HAHA! & because engine standard spec ??? didnt have to declare to insurance ? still did 42mpg local! ( please note all such driving done on private ground !) 6year old 175K on clock when traded in , after that got corsa 1.5 diesel ? bloody hell ? had to write a letter to car in front can I overtake please ( twas soo slow ?? ) compared to
the 1.2NOVA / SWEET LITTLE THING !
normal 0-60 14.6sec /after doing mods above,
( 0-60 12sec ) not much, but all mods done
cost £00.00 just time & effort ! oh! forgot cost
of rolling road ,1990 £23.00 effort + pleasure .

- yaris 1.0 , nothing yet done the car has had a rough life , as I'm an ex driving instructor ! car is an 03 plate , still got nearly all origonal parts , coming up too 120k miles ! exhaust replaced last year full with cat ! still has origonal clutch / battery/h/brake cable /rear brake shoes / amazing little car !

- It started as a child , tinkering! my father an engineer,motorbikes he had , then I had ! fix it mend it modify ? growing up with a inquisitive mind , moving onto cars always wanted to sweak or improve what I had, never having a great deal of disposible income ! I read books to learn how! to do it on a shoestring , I purchased ( tuning A series Engines , By David Vizard ) an indepth guide about, how to make power gains from a standard engine ! I started with little mods on carburation on ( BL Metro ) knife edge butterfly /flowing air box , using a strobe/tacho.
Next a crafty move on a ( nissan micra ) on the end of the carb , a sensor which tells ECU how much butterfly is open ? well you may well ask !loosen two screws on sensor and rotate slightly , go drive see what responce ? now it takes a while because you are your own rolling road ! but with patience ! you should get a decent power improvment ? because we have adjusted it too kid the ECU into thinking its climbing a HILL ? this advances the timing so
