Ok I found this:
But as you can see, the compression ratio is missing. Also this does not help with determining which engine parts are used.
I guess I could manually check a parts dealer such as NAPA or any part store online, but would this be an acurate way, or a waste of time??
I quote...
Yeah. Hopefully.
I have been wanting to turbo this engine, then I came across the VR-4.
The VR-4 seems pretty impressive, and it looks like the same basic setup to work toward for the 6G72 engine I have.
I just want to be sure to get it right without upgrading where needed, resulting in a...
What is the difference in these two engines? other than the twin turbos and MASSIVE HP and TQ differences?
Building the N/A 6g72... the twin in the VR-4 is a powerful one, and prospects look good for the 6G72!
Eclipse GT (2000): 205 HP 6G72 3.0 L 24v V6 SOHC -N/A (nasp)...
I want to build a 6g72 engine with turbos like the twin turbo 3000gt vr4 engine, but I would like to know what kinds of pistons, etc. That are used in the vr4 so that my upgraded 6g72 engine can take the power gain without losing reliability.
So...?
Any info is greatly appreciated.
You might check your dealer. I know if you have questions (warrenty, etc.) about a GM, you can call your local GM dealer and they are usually more than happy to answer questions like yours--remapping, chipping, etc.
Manual. I really hope to be able to get this one, although if I can locate a 300gt VR-4 (TWIN TURBOS!--321HP stock!!!) for a decent price, I might just do the swap. The 2000 Eclipse GT came with about 210HP stock, so the VR-4 would be a MUCH better engine to start with!
Eclipse is fun to drive...
Well I do have upgraded brakes (front slotted/drilled, rear disks) and upgraded suspention.
I am concerned about ECU and injectors though. I do not know how much fuel upgrading I would have to do.
Thanks for the info. I appreciate your response.
I have thought about the VR4 (twin...
I am here because I have always wanted to Turbo a car that came stock w/out one. I would rather not make some BIG MISTAKES by jumping into it w/out enough knowledge, and ruin my engine!
I would love to know some common mistakes people make, and ANY TIPS you may have.
I work in a garage...
