How many times have you gone to see a car for sale only to discover that it was not as advertised?
I went to look at a car with a full service history. The guy selling seemed to think reciepts for light bulbs, cans of oil and the ocassional bit of flappy trim was the same as a full service history. The car hadn't seen new plugs in 3 years and the oil filter was so old it was covered with grime!
I've also seen a few that say "in mint condition" when you turn up it has scraped bumpers and parking dents all over it. Then they say it's not bad for the year.
