When do you exploit your cars power?

I tend to enjoy bursts of power on clear twisty country roads. I am also quite prone to zoom off at the lights depending on who's around me.

It's just a shame that a diesel spews out so much soot when you accelerate hard for the first time in a while. It shows how much engines clog up if you don't use the full rev range.

Agreed, engines are designed to be operated across the full rev range, not grannied around at 35mph in 6th gear.
