cleaning engine

anyone got any tips on cleaning the engine compartment (diesel) mines not only dirty but oily help please

Steam cleaners, degreaser, pressure washer and a strong arm

i use stuff called gunk and a jet wash works ok

I too like the gunk stuff, spray it on and leave for a bit then jet it all off and repeat until you can see engine in there!

Don't get the electrics wet, cover the fuse box. Warm the engine a little first as well but not too hot or the cold water could crack the block!

You hear nothing but horror stories about this. Dirty and working for me.

I always use a jet/power washer with engine running and taking care not to directly spray the electrics. Never had a problem yet :smile:
