buying a civic type r

hi i am thinking of buying a 2004 civic type r. i am a little concerned though as everywhere i have read says that the power does not kick in till 6000rpm. does that mean it is a little slow through the lower revs. i currently own a vts and want to leave this car standing. can you please give your views. its the only thing standing in between me and a type r
 
I would not be put off by a review or opinion. Arrange a test drive and see for yourself. Although there is an explosive kick at the higher end of the rev range there is plenty of power on hand. Compare 0-60, 30-50 and 30-70 stats with your car.

The VTEC timing can be amended via ECU mods and made to kick in at a lower point if it really does annoy you - but I'm sure you will be nothing but impressed.
