Some time back I submitted a thread asking if somebody could suggest a way to boost the power of my 4YE engine in my 1989 4 runner that I had completely rebuilt including the engine and transmission. Well I have found the answer to low power and poor fuel economy. The answer is a choked cat converter. I have replaced it with a piece of tub and it is a different vehicle. Even the auto change pattern is better. I guess after 425000 Km it was due for replacement.
