What a great idea for the winter snow, any one tried this by any chance?

There's quite a few products of this type out there now. Problem is that as soon as you hit tarmac they're going to make one hell of a noise, wear out quickly (unless you stop to cut em off) and then need a new set put back on as soon as you're back on snow again. Not especially practical really.

I'd still go for a set of Winter tyres with the M+S markings on them.

Just makes me think could I use just normal zip ties?

Or for free you could just hammer nails into your tyres.

Actually scratch that last comment, the tyres go flat when you do this. Perhaps zip grips are a good idea after all, I'd buy them if they were cheap or reusable.

permanent puncture seal stuff would sort you out if you insist upon hammering nails into your tyres

Thanks, you've just saved me from replacing 5 tyres (Yes I did the spare as well just to be safe!)
