What do you think about cars that share the same platforms?

The Toyota GT86 and Subaru BRZ - identical ALMOST.
The Aston Martin Cygnet, C1, Aygo and 108 all share the same parts with minor styling tweaks.
The Ferrari Fiat 500 seems to be an excuse to charge an extra 20,000 for a 500 Abarth with Ferrari badging and detailing?

They you have shared platforms, the Exeo from Seat is based on the last generation A4. Golf A3 Leon etc all use the same base components and chassis but have very different styling and tweaks fitted to them.

Is this innovation at it's best or just corner cutting?
