I have always been a fan of people buying cheep bangers for there first cars, as you will most likley dent and bash them a little. My first car was a N reg 1.8 TD Escort, with 140000 miles on the clock. She set me back £375 and cost £1400 in insurance! Loved her! She just wanted to keep going. After 2 years tho, the rust was so bad she would never pass another MOT. Gutted.

What was your first car?
Was it a love/hate relationship?

My first car was a £600 Renault 9 TLE with a 1334cc engine! I crashed it a few weeks after buying it writing it off.

I did find that the car was a bit of a pain in the short time I had it. After I wrote it off I got a letter from a finance company wanting to reclaim it:lol: Probably a lucky escape then.

My first car was a C reg 1275 A series Metro Mayfair & I loved it to bits! It cost more to insure it than it did to buy it but It never let me down. I used to take it regularly up to Glasgow, London, Norfolk & carting mountain bikes around Wales, the only breakdown I had was a broken engine mount. I always regretted selling that car.

First car was a Mk1 Punto 75SX with over 100k miles on and it was bullet proof tbh. Had a few knocks and scrapes from pervious owners over the years but I never bashed it.

Pretty nippy tbh for a first car, quicker than my mates cars at the time. Scrapped it

Yeah I scrapped my Escort as well. Was a little upset at that, but she would never get passed another Mot. She never let me down tho, and always started. Two years and 20,000 she did me. All for £375. BARGIN!

first car, blue saloon nova, b reg, was slow, ate petorl and oil but still loved it. had it for a couple of years until we were welding it for an mot and the thing went up in flames and so of to the scrappies.

i think it is a good idea of getting a cheap motor for your first car
i had a mk2 fiesta 1.1 as my first motor but had been driving a year before i got that as i used my dads shogun and my bosses cavalier or what ever was sitting around the yard for a year

but have never crashed one of my cars to speak off hit a few trees when off roading but dont count

but did nearly write off a customers car once was stoped at a set of lights and some one went in the back of me smashing his motor to bits were mine had a pushed in floor pan and cracked bumper lol

Skoda Estelle. That was a little beauty.

Should have rebuilt the engine, not scrapped it though - they're going for about £750 each now.

im just geting my first car now..(ofc now or next year depends of school)its porsche 944...it has been restyled, and has 163 bhp....they are around 2200 e....

my first car was a 1989 nova sr in haze blue it had 2 lady owners from new and had only done 79k.

needless to say i spent quite a bit on it especially with the full respray with new front wings and bonnet. plus engine wise it had a blydenstein big vlaved ported head, kent fast road cam and weber twin 40 carbs, full piper exhaust system with 4-1 manifold. never had the car on the rollers but it was lively to say the least and i still miss it to this day

i had a 1995 renault clio with 123,000 on the clock was well reliable obviously needed things such as brake pads and wheel bearings lol but still going.

1996 peugeot 106 1.1 paid nothing for it as intercepted it between my gran and the scrappies, never broke down had a few niggles but was very nippy and well equipped for a 106 but needed new gearbox, clutch, exhaust and some serious welding which fortunately i avoided as i drove it into a concrete bridge, i blamed the budget tyres and oil on the road as was only going slow.

as to love/hate, it was an epic pile of rubbish but loved it all the same :)

I'm seeing alot of Old Cars Here,.....Alot of People are showing their Ages haha :p

My First Car was a Renualt Clio Mk1, My Mum gave me the Car and was a really good car to begin with as didn't need much in Repairs. Was Sad in the End as she sat in a Driveway for 6 months, and the Rear Wheels Were Rusted so couldn't get the car moved, and couldn't jack it up to hammer them as the Driveway was on a steep Hill, so ended up burning the clutch out, I auctally thought the engine was on fire with the amout of smoke that came out. So ended up just dropping her off at the local Scrappies, got £70 for her :( ...... they fixed it up and resold it so it lives on........
