In one of them? My mate has got one of them, and he tried to embarris me in the pub one night saying it would destroy my car. Wan't till about a week later we met and had a little shin dig. Is motor didn't stand a change. Went past him like he was standing still. He aint really talked to me much since then! lol

Prince - have you uncovered anything about the UK / US M52TUB engine outputs.

I think still think mine is the 193bhp unit, despite double VANOS.

Yours is the 2.8 I believe so 193bhp is correct. This engine (or a slight variant) was used in the E36 as well. All the 6 pots use VANOS.

All the M52 engines have VANOS of one type or another.

Post 99 (which mine is) all use double VANOS. Allegedly the double VANOS does offer the same peak BHP but the max torque comes in slightly lower in the rev band.

So 193bhp is correct for mine then, I think we can conclude.
