Howdo. Low fluid or worn brakes probably.

You can check the fluid yourself under the bonnet, usually has a yellow top.

Does it sound grindy when you brake? If so, pads will be worn down and could be damaging your discs.
 
Look for leaks around the calipers and the master cylinder and and check the reservoir as well to see if the level has dropped as some cars have a sender that will light up a dash light if the fluid is low . BUT if you are not experienced/unsure get it to a brake specialist ASAP.

Read the owners manual to learn about all the features/warning/idiot lights are for.

PS they are called "idiot lights" because most don't read gauges and the makers install red lights to hopefully get the drivers attention. Nothing personal intended :)
