Wrong oil

Diesel oils are fine in petrol engines. Most makers approve an oil to suit both fuel types now.

However, be cautious about using petrol only approved oils in diesel cars with DPFs.

The sulfated ash content (SAPS) can play hell with the particle filters.

Otherwise no problems really.

???? can you explain that in detail:confused:

Diesel particle filters are very sensitive to ash pollution. Sulfated ash is a common additive in engine oils for extreme pressure wear protection but such oils must not be used in cars thus equipped.
