If you were in a position to get your first ever car back would you? Would you want it back and why?

I kind of would like it if it hadn't been written off and have fond memories. In reality though it was slow, unreliable and expensive to run so perhaps I should err on the side of caution and say no.

What was it then?
Mine was a Mk4 escort 1.4. It was rubbish every panel was a different colour of primer. It really was a proper nail. An no I wouldn't want it back.

NO

Slow - 0-60 - 19.5 seconds
burnt just about as much oil as petrol, no power anything including steering
cant be bothered to carry on. would take back my prelude anyday just would swap to ether the 2 or 2.2 injection rather than the twin carbs

Yeah I would.

Not as a daily driver, but for something to play around with modding.

What was it? Oh, a Skoda Estelle (with badly-installed competition carburettor), and a major oil leak which caused the engine to seize when I didn't put oil into it for something like 6 months.

ford anglia 105e.
i'd love to have it back, but i think it would need a v8 engine transplant though.:amazed:

mine was a 1978 Datsun 200sx. With a manual transmission and an L20B engine. With what i know now i would love to have it back. could prolly get it running again. had a starter/cyliniod issue that would disengage the starter any time it fired. Not a bad thing cept when your trying to get it started and it cuts out at the slightest spark.

i wouldn't want my old rustbucket porsche 911 back, its brakes sometimes wore down! now i'm driving a bugatti veyron and never have those problems.

first car i ever had legal on the road was my dads MK1 granada, house on wheels, would i want it back, yeah because it scared the #!#!#!#! out the old fella after i finished moddin the 2litre pinto engine in it,

hehehehehe, the first car i ever bought for myself was a MK5 cortina ghia, would i have it back, most definately because of the fun times and memories it held and i also suffered the same issue as HDIfun did with the seat, but after the 2litre engine had to be replaced with a 1.6 cos it blew, thats when the moddin fun began,

it would keep up with the old xr3i's and the sri's upto about 70mph when i had finished with it and the peco power master back box off a mini i had on it gave it such an awesome ultra low deep tone and it only had a 4speed box in it aswell,

i managed to get a handsome top speed of a 115mph before i bottled out, aaahhhhhh, they were the days, but sadly it would never be, cos the guy i sold it too ran it into a skip cos he couldnt handle it.

the question to be asked is can you remember the reg plate of your first car, my cortina was yfv 834v, and thats 18yrs later. lmao

No I would not!

I couldn't wait to get shot of it!

Saying that I did have some good times in it before it kept blowing valves :blink1:

Twas a 1973 Marina van in a fetching Ford red, rostyle wheels, mirror tint rear glass, carpeted ;) slow as hell. APV773L if my memory serves me right. Well it was back in 1982/3!

B281CGD - saloon nova - and no would not want it back - lucky if it could hit 70mph before all the oil was burnt from the engine, just before it went on fire it was consuming more than twice as much oil as petrol!
