So many i see on my travels seem to have developed bad habits that almost certainly would have made them fail the test like.

1 Steering single handed.

2 Arm holding roof on or door closed not only dangerous but illegal.

3 Failing to indicate intentions IN ADVANCE and not at the same instant you swing the wheel IF you bother to indicate at all.

4 Sitting way too far away from the wheel looking cool.

5 Having the radio blasting away and grooving to the music.

6 Not doing mirror and shoulder checks before changing lanes.

7 Hitting the gas to get up to speed when they see the sign way in the distance.

8 Flying past the reduced speed sign before braking/slowing.

9 Tailgating and not following the 2 second rule.

10 Driving with headphones.

11 Texting/talking on phone driving or stopped in traffic.

12 Failing to indicate when leaving the kerb and pulling out into traffic.

Driving is a serious business and needs to be taken seriously but IMO many of us out there have grown complacent and really need to have a good hard think about the safety of themselves and others when out on the roads.

A lot of those styles of driving eventually brings drivers in to my work view, when they invariably crash and think it isn't their fault.

I have picked up a few bad habits, but I'm sure I could suppress them for the duration of the test.

I would probably struggle if I am honest. Had my licence some 38 years, no points, never been breathylised but that doesn’t make me a saint ;)
