Hi!
I have an Audi 1.9 tdi 2002.
I really like quattro and i want to buy one and put a hybrid turbo on it. As I have read on the forum, people are not very enthusiast about pd engines. I would really like to know why, before I buy, because I intend to keep it for a long time.

Thank you for reading this.

I am waiting for your replies.

Where did you read that? Few of us have PD engines including me. They are a bit rougher than the CR engine and there is a few problems with oil leaks but the high pressure injectors they use are begging to be tuned. Darkside Developments have built a whole business around them.

I had a PD130 in my Bora, bought at 97k, remapped it, did over 40k in it, no problems.

They're not the most refined but they're tough and torquey. I've not heard of any major issues with them if they are maintained correctly.

Just make sure you look after the PD engine and it will look after you. I have ran a few of these and they have all been great.
I will say tho that the 150 PD engine is known to suffer from soft camshafts but apart from that they are pretty sound engines.
