Why does red paint fade so badly

I've seen loads of PINK cars around, but they were originally red and the colour has faded to the point it has become Pink.

Why does this happen? Is there something about red paint that makes it fade? What about other colours do they fade as much as Red?

Do newer Red paints resist this fading effect?

It is clearly some form of oxidisation as a Cutting Polish will bring the paint up again like new, but you can obviously only do this a few times.

No Idea, but I will say this, I have NEVER seen a red Ferrari turn pink! So I assume paint manufacturers cut costs somewhere in the pigments but why?

All car paints fade, red just fades quicker and it shows up more. However, if a car is cared for and properly cleaned and waxed, as Ferraris will be, the paint will stay a vibrant red.

I think it depends. The color will usually fade faster if the car is exposed to the sun. Particularly if your car is parked outdoors and you live in a place with a warm climate.
