Which race exhaust

Hi all,

I am looking to get a road legal race exhaust.

Which makes are trusted/used in the UK? What are the Pros/Cons of fitting one?

Ideally looking for one which won't impact on the cars performance!

why are you looking for a race exhaust, why not just a normal sports exhaust ?

APR and Neuspeed both made race spec exhausts. iirc both were 70mm pipework (most sport exhausts for the 1.8t and 1.9tdi are around 2.5" (64mm))without any resonators meaning it would be loud

If you want a race exhaust that doesn't impact on the car's performance, what is the point of fitting one?

Aren't race exhausts for track only and not road use?

To make a diesel exhaust loud is to remove the back box and have a pipe welded on instead with a tail end welded on as a performance backbox will not make a noise.
