When do you put your lights on?

When driving along when do you put your lights on?

Are you generally one of the first or last to turn on your lights? Do you ever use dipped lights?

I know it sounds silly, but I normally put my side lights on when the the instruments start to get a little hard to read. I'm normally among the first who light up too. :embarrest:

but i have got better! after bertrum pointing out that your lights should be on if the lamp posts are on

You can still turn 'em on manually if you want to do so. The rotary switches are fairly simple to operate

I'll wait until the street lamps are on. Get loads of poeple flash me to tell me to turn my lights on when there is still in my eyes plenty of daylight left.

Turn on my side lights the moment I get into the car, my dad used to do it, so I just followed suit.

never really bother with the sidelight, generally just jumping to dipped as soon as its starting to get dark

never tend to use sidelights except if very heavy fog (which are accompained by my fog lights). usually get them on pretty early especially if its raining and starting to get dark.

Sidelights go on when it's dull.

Dipped headlights go on when I struggle to see cars a similar colour to mine about 1 mile away.

It's worth considering that only main beam headlights are there for you to see with, the other lights are there for you to be seen.

Put my lights on when it gets dull. Don't see the point of compulsory daytime running lights. yet another pointless directive from the parasitical EU.

my lights just come on by themself, lazy idea. but i think its brilliant lol.
