Any thoughts on what your next car purchase is going to be? When is this likely to happen?

Well, realistically either an Evo of some sort (TME or FQ340 probably) or an R33 GTR for my play thing. Only reason I haven't one now is because the insurance is silly (21, sp30, not the best postcode, 1yncb) so I have the Punto to keep me busy. I could sell all my Punto GT bits and buy either one right now, with change left over, just don't fancy £5k insurance thanks, especially when I'm paying £2k on the Alfa! :( Shame I need another car for commuting, otherwise I'd have an R34 GTR by now, regardless of insurance.

I'll have one year after next, and probably keep the GT for M3 killing once it's finished. If I saved up a bit and sold the GT for bits, I could be tempted by an R34 GTR. We'll see.

Plan to keep the Alfa as my runaround for a good few years now.

will be getting a little suzuki jeep thing next month as i have sold my 87 trans am and will need something a bit better on juice then my new one
so thought about a little jeep easy to park cheap to run and i can go off road in it and dont care if i smash it up

I'd love something small/nimble aka 'chuckable' to add to my collection that's not too expensive.

I've got the Passat W8 which is outright mad in terms of strait line pace, and not so shabby around bends since the coilovers.

I've got the FreeLander for my daily drive (to keep the miles of the 'ssat

No idea what fits the bill though...!

It's difficult to decide really. At the moment my car buying budget is £0.

Let's see what the insurers come up with.

I'm keen on a post 1996 BMW 5 series with an engine torquey enough to deal with automatic transmission.

I think that the remapped 406 was great fun but diesel servicing is pricey. It's an insurance total loss anyway so no point considering reparing it.

Hopefully the insurers will find favour and offer a half reasonable payout.

I also think that I'm going back to petrol - my annual mileage is low so I might as well take advantage of the lower servicing costs and lower purchase prices of petrol cars.

And, do I really NEED 300lbft plus torque? No possibly not. A 523i or 528i would serve the purpose very nicely indeed.

Even a V6 Vauxhall/Opel Omega would be a sensibel choice.

I'm not about to buy a 1.8 Astra however. Crash or not, I'm quite content with my driving ability.

Either an 07-08 Impreza STi (modified) or a late version Evo maybe a FQ340 or 400, depends on insurance as well - the current scooby is gbp600 with 2yrs ncb and refuse to pay more than 1k for insurance but running 2 policies at the moment - the other on an escort which is less than 200 notes.
