Ok so are these the same thing Valeting and Detailing?

If not then what is the difference between Valeting and Detailing?

They are regional terms, but for many people detailing involves resurfacing chrome, plastics and paint etc that is chipped worn or cracked, whereas valeting is more of a deep clean.

Both require levels of OCD and commitment that far exceed my capabilities.

I was told by an owner of a mobile valeting service that the only difference is the country that uses the different name.

Probably the difference is in the mind of the supplier ( and the cost )...
valet is usually a general clean and polish.
Detailing is the same but to a different level (according to a detailer I know)

both terms are common in the UK nowadays with valeting being the original term and often used for the more expensive options at somewhere like a hand car wash (that usually involve adding some form of wax or silicone based protection on top of washing the bodywork) - detailing tends to have more "attention to detail" (as you might expect!) and often involves a level of paint correction (polishing/compounding), trying to remove swirls (or and/or just avoid making them in the first place) than just a standard "wash and wax"..
