What cars SOUND fast?

What cars actually give off sounds that make you appreciate they are fast?

The high tickover of an exotic V12 does it for me or the rumble of a lazy V8! Even boxer engines sound pretty good and give an impression a car will be fast.

What cars/sounds do you associate with FAST.

There's an Evo round my way and when the chap floors it, it just sounds like POWER.
It's quiet on tickover, then when he pulls away all hell breaks loose. It's not so much that it's overly loud. The backfire when the gears are changed is what makes it sound fast.
It's a great sounding car to be fair.

I was lucky to be near an F-Type R Jaguar a while back and the noise that thing made! From low revs to pulling away it was immense. TVRs, when running, are another that exude power in any rev range.

My experience has been that many cars that sound fast aren't. It is often a case of all fart and no sh*t.

Ferraris sound too high pitched for my liking.

A Bugatti on full chat sounds menacing,
