Hi. Any one knows about adjusting the wastegate on the 110 HDi on the 406.
I heard it works with vaccum. Vaccum is used to close the wastegate and is controlled by the ECU.

How to manually adjust the rod? Is it towards the end of the rod for more boost or vice versa?
Mine is towards the end and I still lack boost below 3000rpm.

Wastegate actuator works. MAF sensor has been swaped but no difference found.
Any other guess?

Please wait until you have a definitive answer from someone on here before you touch it buddy. I am fairly sure I heard of someone doing this and it went horribly wrong for them but unsure of the reason why :(

I woudnt have thought that you can proper,y adjust the boost by changing the rod lenght,

Best way to change the boost is by fitting a proper boost controller

Have you got an accurate boost gauge or are you going by the seat if your pants feeling??
Sleepers advice is the best/correct way to adjust boost but make sure the gate is operating properly first.

Small splits in pipes or leaking connectors can cause loss of low down boost. You could use soapy water over the intake pipes and joins to see if they cause bubbles to track it down.

You do need to be careful, you might overdo it and force the engine to overboost and run lean.
