Sorry, I'm English only. Anyone body else here multilingual?

Hello good to all, I introduce myself I am Pol and a resident of Barcelona (Spain), I currently have a vw polo gti 6n2 without motor to which I want to mount a 1.8t AGU that I have obtained from a golf 4. I want to take the opportunity to ask if someone from here It has done this, because I have bought some engine mounts from the EPYTEC company and I am having problems mounting them, I don't know if someone could help me a little.

Excuse me, I wrote it in English and the translator changed it to Spanish.

Thank you for your update. Wow, you have taken on a real task haven't you?

Firstly, welcome to the family, I hope we can guide you or advise you on what is going to be a tortuous path.

You say you have the engine, and some mountings, but you don't tell us the problem you are having.

We need to be able to visualise your situation, as if we were working at your side, so it's important that you describe in detail the problem. We have to see through your words...

I am not familiar with this particular engine swap. I'm pretty old school, as you will discover. But having just enquired with a company in the UK which specialises in engine swaps, how much it would cost to fit and 18T VW engine into my Skoda Fabia, seriously, I almost had a coronary.... Are you laid on the floor.....?

A mere £15000....yep three zeroes.

This is because it requires so much more than the engine. Apparently, to run faultlessly it requires the clocks, ecu, fuel pump, in fact all the associated electronics which are on the CanBus for that particular engine.... Then there are the hubs, brakes, driveshafts, intercooler etc, not to mention the exhaust system and gearbox hookup.

As I said, I'm not familiar with your model so I hope it will go well, but by all accounts modern engine swaps and intense.

Having got the warning ⚠ out of the way, if you can tell us exactly what the issue is with the engine mounts I or someone else will advise you.

I wish you well with this adventure. Kev.

Hello good morning, the problem I had is that the engine support on the distribution side did not match the one I bought from EPYTEC and finally investigating I discovered that they were made to be used with the engine supports of the poles 6n1 1.4 and 1.6. Finally we have solved the problem

Great News there, wishing you well as you move forward with the project.

I think it's crazy that they ask you for £ 15,000. Luckily I do it myself, the only thing about this car with this engine, unfortunately I have not found too much information, I will inform you

Yes £15000 is a huge amount of money, but that includes buying a complete doner vehicle so they can take as much of the original equipment from the vehicle to graft into mine, along with altering drive shafts, a new exhaust, the list is extensive, even down to the dash instruments, so there is no risk of incompatibility... Anyway, you have fun and enjoy, keep us all in the loop, it will be a great project...

Can someone here help me a bit with all the material I will need to be able to do the swap?
What do you mean by materials..... What you really need is a doner vehicle with the same platform so you can swap stuff over. This is what I was trying to explain to you in our last conversation.

You will need everything matched to the engine you have... So from ECU to clocks, gear linkages, radiator, intercooler, pipework, driveshafts, brakes suspension, exhaust system wire looms and control systems. The list is vast.

but the transmission shafts for example I will have to make it to measure and I imagine that several other things too

Unless you can find a vehicle with the same front end setup, including track width which has the gearbox. Probably, yes. Massive job my friend, that why I was quoted £15000 to have that engine fitted into my car....

Well, from what I know of acquaintances who have done similar things, at least here in Spain there are companies specialized in adapting wiring, making custom transmission shafts, removing the immobilizer from the ECU, etc.

Sounds like you are on top of it. Great job.
