VR6 dashboard question

Hi folks.

I have a VR6. Above the cigarette lighter is a blanking plate. If the ashtray is removed, this blanking plate can be moved across to reveal a female connector. I wondered what it was for, as I want to fit something and may be able to use the output.

Any help would be appreciated.

What head unit have you got, beta or gamma? Its most likely for a cd player or changer.

Ooh. Good one. I am new to VW cars, so I'll check and let you know. How can I tell?

What year is yuor VR6? I have an 02 Bora with a Gamma headunit, it's a radio cassette and Gamma is printed on the cassette flap. It connects to a dash-mounted VW cd player.

Oh, and why haven't you got a vortech supercharger on yet? :blink1::cheesy:

1996 model. CD radio fitted is not a VW one.

Ah, dunno for definite then but it's still quite likely to be some kind of adapter for a device like a CD changer.
