Car
prelude 2.2vtec jap
when i bought my prelude, it needed bushes, and badly
so i went to honda, long story short, for the back alone costed 1600 euros, and because you had to buy the arms aswell (bushes dont come separate) this actually put me off the car

but a mate of mine said you would get them off the internet for cheap
so a few months ago, i bought my first computer and searched

i found a company in the usa called ENERGYSUSPENSIONPARTS.COM
and saw they do bushing kits for most cars, including mine
so i purchased a kit and had to buy rear trailing arm bushes separate
the whole lot including shipping was 180 euros, ( not bad )

last week my car went to the garage to have them fitted
it took a week to fit them and only because my brother is an apprentice there and the owner didnt want to screw me with the price
so he said the lads can tip away with it when yhey have nothing to do
over all it would take 2 full days to install everything

everything was changed on the car, and i mean everywhere theres a rubber bushing was replaced ( you do get alot of bushes in the kit)

VERY IMPRESSED ;)
the differance it made to the car is brillant
i have balled tyres
i took off the strut bar ( they had to take off the shocks)
the tracking isnt done (told them i need new tyres so theres no need)
the roads are wet
and i cannot, for the love of me get the car to slide
with these bushes i can put down the power of the car in any bend
and she just grips

they are a polyurethane bush and are gaurenteed for 5 years
even if they last half of that i will be happy

so fellas,
if your finding bushes for your car expensive or hard to get,
energysuspensionparts.com should sort you out

people with new cars this shouldnt apply to you
but anyone with an old car like myself that want the handeling of a new car, this is a cheap way to go about it

example
honda were charging 1600 euros for the back alone not fitted
i now have the whole car done and fitted for 500 euros
and there a better bushing than the normal:lol:

Someone said they were quite hard and you feel the road vibration but you seem to really rate them.

they are hard but not enough to ruin the comfort of the car
we have bad roads over here so in england i shouldnt see why they would
come across hard
i took my car for a spin last night on the motorway and found it relaxing
but when i was back around my way where the roads are like a battle zone they were a bit hard but nothing to give out about

they are a bush that are aimed at track cars so the handeling as i said has improved a lot
but if its comfort you want, get the origanal bushes that go into your car

what im really impressed by is the money and handeling side of it
i dont really care about comfort,( although the prelude is quiet comfortable)
theres an old saying, power is nothing without control
and thats what i wanted bushes for in the first place

so mate, if you need them for a track car, they are good
if its comfort and everyday driving you want them for,i find there only a touch too hard to the normal but again the handeling over comes that thought

Yup. Poly bushes are cool. Do we call them bushes or bushings? I've seen both and worry that bushes is a manglification of bushings?

As a compromise you can leave the main load bearing bush/es(ings) as they are and use the poly ones on all other minor suspension joins. Its a way to get the best of both worlds.

A big plus is that the things seems to last forever. No more changing them every few years (my Rovers lasted 2 years max!)

waynne mentioned another company that also do kits
so there are companys out there that do these poly bushes for cheap, and i think they are better

ECON like myself, you have an old jap car thats big and powerful,
so getting bushes of a main dealer is going to cost you
waynne mentioned that company so i would get them if they are available
i promise you, you will be pleased

I'm thinking of Poly bushing my little car & I think you've just sold it to me
hi loz,
again you have a talon 100r, (never heard of 1) so its a rear car you have
you see the proplem is when the car is rear,m the parts are dear(hey that ryhmes)
now to buy a bushing kit for a civic lets say, the parts are very cheap as there are civics everywhere so they mass produce parts for them
but they wont mass produce parts for a rear car,its common sense really
as companys would have to wait a long time to make profit

i also think i got that kit so cheap was because the honda prelude is a popular car in the usa

so mate, do go ahead with it its a very cheap fix
