Turbo uprating : >TorqueCars strongly recommend an upgrade to a ball bearing based turbo unit - they spool up faster, tolerate higher speeds and hotter temperatures. If you are running power in excess of 300bhp then a ball bearing turbo should be considered essential.

I go against the norm and buy cheap Chinese journal bearing turbos and replace them every year, so far I have never had a failure,
 
So by replacing your turbo every year Colin, is this just to keep the performance fresher on the car or is it for another reason?

Just to be on the safe side, a garret gt35 would be about £1500, a Chinese gt35 (obviously not as good as a genuine Garrett) costs less than £200, so I can change 2 every year for the next 4 years for the cost of 1 Garrett.
