I have just removed the Rainsport 2 tyres from the front of my E39 BMW 528i.
After 15,000 miles the wear rate is good in general but they have become so incredibly noisy at low speed. So bad that I suspected one or more faulty wheel bearings.
The car has had a full four wheel geometry setup (with the it loaded with ballast according to BMW specs) and the noise persisted.
So........... I have had a pair of Michelin Primacy HPs with the BMW specific star marking. I have used these in the past and have had good results.
Guess what? Noise is GONE !!!!! It's now the hushed comfortable car it's supposed to be!
I guess some tyres just don't suit some cars
