2 questions;

1. Anyone had any experience with commercial tyre softeners?

2. Anyone made their own softener?

Throw it in first, push the revs really really high, drop the clutch and the tyres go softer...the only softener I know.

Contrary to popular belief, doing a burnout on street tires makes a lot of smoke, removes layers of expensive rubber and accomplishes nothing of dynamic significance besides enjoyment, if you like that sort of pointless exercise.

However, a quick spin, away from any water, is useful as it removes debris from the tyre tread.

Yeah, I have read about using a combination of acetone, diesel, white spirit and ATF. Some people also advocate a mix including WD40.

What sort of improvement did you notice?
