tyre size that doesnt rub

306 ,lowered,16" wheels off a 407 ,currently on 205/40/17 but rub ,options are sell the wheels and tyres or,put the old wheels back on 14" 106 gti ones ,or is anyone selling a set that wont rub

Have you tried the local breakers yard for a set of smaller rims?

You could pull or roll the arches to give more clearance if it is just the outer wing coming into contact with the tyre.

^^ If you get the arches rolled dingle, just make sure that the person doing it is a professional. You should not be able to see any creases or wrinkles at all in the paintwork when the job has been done
