Turbo effective CR

The actual engine compression ratio doesnt increase with forced induction- it cant because it is a physical formula .

All manufacturers quote their CR and whether it is a turbo, supercharged or na engine the cr will be calculated the same way.
It also has some use it is relevant to performance and engine charachteristics.

Not sure the point of the calculation posted because even the article pretty much says it has no practicle use.

I guess to simplify matters when you add boost you force far more air into the cylinder so the cylinder pressures on a power stroke are far greater in a boosted motor than in a non turbo motor with the same static CR.
