hey and welcome.

how much are you willing to spend ? how much experience have you got?

keeping the same engine best mods you can do are changing the intake pipe for a stronger one. the OEM one can collapse under boost.
changing the OEM diverter valve for a stronger one - make sure you go for a recirculation vavle rather than an atmospheric dump valve. again the thin rubber can tear in the OEM one. many will recommend the forge 007p - also look at getting the additional spring pack for after its mapped.
3" downpipe. rest of the exhaust is pretty good and wont give very much for changing.
changing the standard side mount intercooler for a decent front mount one. again forge make a twin pass one that keeps the pipe runs as short as possible to combat lag.
decent tyres and brake pads. the 180 should have came with the 312mm setup as standard so is fairly good but you can go for brembos.
suspension leaves alot to be desiered. alot of the bushes are voided on the A3/Golf etc where as on the TT they are solid but not as harsh as the likes of polybushes.
rear beam bushes get from a seat leon if you can.
turbo fitted is the K03s look at getting a hybrid one then look towards remapping
depending on who you want to look at for mapping - this i would leave to the pros - ask them about the fuel pressure. some companies will suggest the 3bar standard one others if you want a stronger map wil suggest a 4 bar one again from the 210 of 225 TT.
all the mods above will allow you to stage 2 in most companies maps. so around 230-240bhp.

other options are taking out the AUQ engine and fitting an AMK or BAM engine. this could work out cheaper but more specialist tools needed to get around the imobilier and coding to fit. could work out cheaper to sell the A3 and just buy a S3.

plus side of doing that is youve already got the stronger engine, bigger turbo, injectors -which i missed up top . and of course the haldex 4 wheel drive as the chassis isnt the best. the quattro - not real quatrro - is set up slightly different.

have a look at the bora in my signature as it is the same chassis, engine, gearbox of your a3
