The braking system in my trooper in knackered. Got new pads, discs etc, but still not stopping! I have checked pipes for leaks. Do you think best option is to drain system and start again?

The brake servo could be shot  (or it might be losing pressure). I'm assuming that the brakes go on but you have to press really hard and the car takes a while to stop. If the brake fluid level is ok then the only thing changing brake fluid will help stop is fade - when the brakes are warm.

There could be an air lock - try pumping the pedal with the engine running and check the level again if it firms up. Has the fluid been altered or changed recently?

hi trooper check the servo and also check the brake pump on the right hand side of the engine as it is driven by a belt had the same problem with mine and it turned out to be the pump filter blocked up

The fluid was a bit low, so i topped up when new brakes put in. I thought myself it could be an airlock, but havent managed to get it.
I'll check the pump filter when it stops snowing!!!
