What do you keep your tools in when they are not in use.

Also is it just me that puts down a tool and instantly loses it again!

ive got 2 tool chests and a bag, have lost alot of my tools though.

spend half an hour looking for a pair of scissors that i had just used the other day

I have a habit of putting things 'safe' and never to be found again, I put my 36mm socket somewhere recently, I had to buy a new one today, I know I'll find the old one any day now.

Tools, both powered and hand, are kept in many different tool cases with special pallets to keep them all nice and neat ;)

Well my daily-use small tools are in a plastic tray on a shelf above my work table.

Other more infrequently used tools are in a wooden chest.

Power and precision tools in their original boxes/carry-bags they came with.

But with 2 budding mechanics/ engineers, aged 4,1/2 and almost 6, I still manage to misplace them often enough, finding them after their use has been substituted with something else.

So I guess all is not lost........ ;) ;) ;)

Well....

The things is I live at home with my parents so I borrow all my Father's tools
(personally I own a set of allen keys, some screw drivers and a stanley knife and that's it)

And I always loose stuff, I'm a bugger when I'm working on my car to just put the tool down anywhere in the engine bay and as soon as it touchs a carpart it immediatly because the same colour as it and blends in perfectly, most of my time working on cars is spent finding tools

Still they always reveil themselves after a while and I manage to put everything back where they belong.

I also find that the very tool that I need, my dad has at work!!!

have a big 53in box and roller cab at work then at home have a smaller box with just a few tools in

in the back of the landrover have a old army box that i keep things in

but am always losing things but always find them before i finish the job or the job dont come off the lift

Currently most of my tools are in random boxes/bags in the Shed. Halfords pro all in one tool kit does 99.9% of what i need on an average day.

Will be changing shortly though, am about to go into partnership with a mate and open our own garage, so i have my new tools ready to order:

Should see me right apart from a few specialist bits and piices being bought elsewhere :)
