The old lady finally get's what she deserves!

Right then, time has come to give the oldlady some treatment,
all the talking about it it has now stopped and I'm finally doing something to her

I've bought all manner of part for her and taken photos, first thing though, how do I upload them?

Lol best and quickest way to do it imo is to upload them to photobucket and then copy and paste the IMG link into your post. Will enable you to post the photos anywhere too, other forums for example.

'Bout time too :D

Prince has done a handy guide here mate,

http://www.torquecars.com/forums/f47/posting-pics-3252/

I use photobucket mostly, just upload the pics & paste 'IMG' code into your post. Resizing your photo's to about 600x400 (ish) will help upload times too, or use a lower pixel setting on your camera as you wont be blowing the pictures up in size & will make the files smaller. :D

Ps: When I read the title I wondered where this was going!:lol::lol:

Right then, first of all.

For all the people who haven't seen her already this is the old lady in question:

It's a 1998 Peugeot 306 1.9 DT (XUD9TE/DHY engine) in Vivant spec and finished in Nile Blue :)

current mods are:
Pipercross induction kit (standard one)
decatted exhaust (what's left of it)
Stage 1 tune and disconnected EGR valve

sorry about the picture quality my iPhone isn't the best, the rest of the picture though I will use my digi camera

gti6 discs, pads and calipers,

IMG_0136.jpg

Peugeot cyclone alloy wheels finished in white, they are basically gti6 wheels but have also been standard equipment on HDi Dturbos as well, they have Goodyear f1 GSD3's and Yoko PARADA SPEC-2's 2 of each, the egales are pretty much worn out but the yoko's are almost brand new, they are 195/50/15
really I'm supposed to have a 55 profile but tyre chose is less and they cost more so I'm happy with the smaller wheels mine are currently 185/65/14

IMG_0135.jpg

thanks to MA for the intercooler :) It's from an EVO 6 so more than enough for what I want,

IMG_0139.jpg

and Bosch injectors I got off egay, I currently have a Lucas set up and will be changing to the Bosch VE pump so will need the Bosch injectors due to there higher break pressure, as you can see in the picture they look like they have seen better days but hopefully on Monday they will be going to diesel united in Shropshire for a refurb and so bigger nozzles :)

also this happened on the way back from Leicester,
IMG_0131.jpg

Hmmmm, that has happend twice now, however it does give me an excuse to get a full stainless system made for it by MIJ :lol

Question,

What tyres should I replace the eagle f1's with? I would just get more but Goodyear don't make them anymore in that size
195/50/15, I even considered going slightly wider with some 205's but they are nearly double the price :O

thoughts please?

You want four of the same ideally so if you want to keep the Parada Spec 2's then get another pair to match, then move to something better when they die. Although, Parada Spec 2's aren't a bad tyre by most accounts.

great another wip that will be updated weekly:amuse: this will give me something else to read other than ma's rides:bigsmile:

just currious though jarrus which part of walsall are you from???
im from darlo so know walsall quite well!!!!

Great Wyrley mate,

Well technically I live closer to cannock but Great Wyrley is classed as a suburb of Walsall,

I have Walsall in my address and in my postcode and it's on my phone area code,
Do you know where I am then?

Are MIJ any good then? I've heard people moan about them. But they always seem busy when I go past, so maybe it's unfounded. :amuse:

Well I've heard people sing there praises, plus they decatted my exhaust for me and i've had no problems with the service so would return again,

That's unless you know of a better place to go?

yep i know great wyrley i reacently did a david wilson site round there!
by blowers on holly lane

and the first site i ever worked on a few good lads i worked with was from round your way. and they used to all drink in a pub called the globe/world or something like that??
the lads all had distinctive names! dolly last name dolphin cant remember his first name, puwey last name puw (spellings probably wrong!) dave fisher now owns fishers carpentry (quite a big firm in the midlands!)

I'm pretty sure they renamed a pub around my way I can't remember a pub around called that, I can give you a big long list, considering it's a village there are loads of pubs,

let me know if you're around my way again and we can visit a pub if you want :) and I can show you how rusty the old lady is...lol

I think body parts are going to be on the shopping list, that's unless I decide to leave it distressed a crappy, I'm not sure yet, but I guess I would need to make it more distressed to complete the look though...

i wasnt to far from you a couple of weeks ago out drinking i was in the old mitre on bursnips road drinking with a few mates from the mosley, then they took me to another pub in the middle of a council estate just down the road(cant remeber the name of it!) but it reminded me of the pub from shameless (it was a rough hole!!!!) but a great night was had!!!

i also drink in the dog on the turnberry road on occasions i'll definitely let you know when im up your way again!!!

Yep I know where that is, (the dog that is) in the Turnberry lol, the thing that I'm most impressed with is that you made it out of that pub in the Mosley with all of your limbs intact...

yep my my mate old man still lives on the turnberry estate so we pop over that way to socialise
the mosley aint that bad especially when you have worked with most of them!! surrounding areas are much worse!! bloxwich high street, leamore, coalpoole!!!
but the pub i meant wasn't actually on the mosley. i remembered the name of the pub. the poets corner new invention(scary place!!!!!)

mate you need to live a little! drive through new invention, then when you stop at the lights be ready with your baseball bat, then if you dont feel the car lift your alright!! but if you do jump out and sort the little buggers out:amuse:

Yeah thought it was too good to be true,
Turbo dynamics do a hybrid for my car (t2/25 60mm compressor) but I'm still researching VNT stuff as well

Right then quick update:

Got the car booked in at MIJ for tomorrow having a full turbo back exhaust, 2.5" pipe non resonated,
I'm now awaiting a Bosch injection pump and a cylinder head for my engine, there's nothing wrong with mine I just plan to get this one worked on and still be able to use my car as it is,
Next on the list of parts will be suspension, and I do mean everything, since the car was made none of the suspension components have been replaced so I think it's time for an overhaul,

Expect to see a biiiiiiggg update in a couple of weeks, if I can find a gti6 rear beam

Last edited:
The gti6 rear beam was fitted to the gti6 (obviously) the hdi and xsi, besides the rear discs it also has stiffer ARB and stiffer torsion bars, so very worthwhile upgrade :)

Was going to mention the XSI has disks on the rear. I had one a few years ago, it was tweaked by a company called PMS or something like that and it was Rapid.;)

Are you being serious about new invention as i live in that area its not that bad. Its forrest gate in new invention thats full of chavs try going to heath town in wolvo. Im suprised ive not seen you about as ive got a mate who lives in cheslyn haye.

@dan, I've lived in Wyrley my whole life and I work at Tkmaxx distribution centre now so I'm sure you will see me at some point :)

@tn, the 8v engine is just a slightly larger capacity version of the 205 gti 1.9 (xu9 block) but with a milder cam in it, I dare say they may have fitted the 205 gti cam in it to give more oomph, as for the 16v, that engine is a newer xu10 block and shares itself with the gti6 engine, the gti6 had wilder cams, a much better intake and exhaust manifold, not to mention a more advanced ecu
But I had noticed in the xsi 16v the gears are really long so would have seemed slower, but if you tweaked the 16v it would have been much quicker, all of the gti6 engine stuff that makes it a gti6 would have fitted straight on then it would have been a beast ;)
