The invisible brake pedal

I had one of those moments were I was in a car being driven by someone else and they stopped too late, drove too close and generally were quite poor at anticipating the road ahead.

A few times I found myself pressing my foot against an invisible brake pedal hoping that somehow I could slow up the car!

Have you ever had this experience? If you are a control freak I do not recommend it.

I have indeed. Some drivers do leave me scared to be honest.

yup done it myself when the mrs was learning to drive coming upto a roundabout when she announced she had got little to no breaking i pumped that invisible peddle like crazy lucky for us there wasn't a thing in site:blink:

Yeah I had that problem. A mate of mine where I work tried out a car I was selling on a private road. He actually managed to drive up the bank. I could of jumped out the car when the end of the road was coming up.

Perhaps car makers should introduce a secondary brake for nervous passengers to use!

Her indoors does it now and again if I step on the loud pedal. It's the change of exhaust note that alerts her first and she reaches for the brakes

Yes all the time I don,t like being a passenger.
