Hey guys

Finally! the MOT Passed today!

New springs on the rear and fitted a Sportex Jap Exhaust system (pics to come)

So there is a few bits I need to sort on it.

The Rear View mirror will not stay attached!! annoyingly!
There is a bit of tired looking paint and a poor job done on the passenger door and wing (previous work due to accident)

I want to do the drums on the rear wheels.

Also my two front tyres got an advisory as they are on 1.8 mm

so new tyres to come I have a few cool little gadgets at home I will be attaching to the vehicle soon I have these very cool mirror side repeaters.

well its the actual mirror sticking to the clip on the windscreen mate.

with the repeaters I just need to know if it is easy to fit to the wiring on the repeaters so both are fully functioning.

Summit makes mirror pads. Available at Halfords. Shame you don't have the electrochrome mirror, these are much more durable as their fixed above the screen rather than to it.

Also, there's no mechanical load put upon the fixings as you don't have to click that lever thing for night time anti-glare mode

All told though those are good cars. Even the 316 (which I think is a 1.8) goes pretty nicely. Fast? No. But nor is my 528i in my opinion. Very lively, yes, but it's not a Porsche

Don't skimp on tyres, and get a full four wheel geometry done, not just 'tracking'. Lots of adjustment on BMW suspension and it makes a huge difference to the general feel of the car if it's done properly.

Fine a specialist who uses Hunter equipment and who ballasts the car to the correct ride height all round.

A proper alignment can take up to two hours.

Adjusting the Suspension is something I want to do but I cannot afford Coil-overs just yet to be honest.

These are my first two additions to my Beemer

An Electro Magnet Horn I have had since I lost my Punto

But really want to attach it asap just need to dig out the power terminal for it! it is supposed to be bloody loud!

Got a new headunit compared to my post millennium cd player with faulty connections but the new one suits the interior color better and reduced in January sales from 60 quid to 30.

Old head unit

Here is the new one

Thats the strange thing the car manual states air conditioning but no button it gas bottle for it.

Also what are the complexities involved in installing a 6 speed?

Hmm will look into it.

Also update no pics available but replaced all the fuses as loads were blown.

All moving forwards. It will be a long burner

End of January next payday I will be investing in my first full on bit for my project some nice tidy coil overs from France

wrong point of my question, can a 1.6 handle in such a big body, would it be effective? you'll need high torque always.

Apparently, after some research, they do actually handle well!

But I do see your point. Maybe PP will stick a 1.8 in eventually....

I think I would find myself taking a deep breath and saying a little prayer every time I approached a width restriction ;)

What if the width restriction built was finished on a Friday afternoon and the chap fancied a pint so thought to himself - I lost me tape measure so near enough will be good enough

agree, it's an issure which requires quality hand work in it, precision.

this one is very sexy, always loved the gtr look of e36

Very nice for some inspiration but not sure on the spoiler

This weekend i'll be doing my first piece of Major Works on the car

Come Sunday I should be (weather permitting) adding some coil overs to the ride and lowering it. Ripping out my interior and going for some Leather interior.

M-tec body kit, New Door, New O/S Wheel Arch

Some new door lock barrels and some Head Lamps.

Adding my indicators hopefully and bolting on a 318is Manifold to my 1.6 engine as that is the only thing different in the engine specs of a 318is engine and a 316i engine they are the same except the manifold.

will put pics on this weekend

Indeed On a Sunday Morning, Going to be stripping out a 318is only cost £30 quid for the car as it was an insurance write off a car basically hit the off side rear head lamp taking a chunk off the corner

yup well it was brothers car he got a 1000 quid pay out but bought the car back off them for £30 so everybody wins mate!

318is e36 but because it was his anyway instead of the insurance firm taking it he gave them 30 quid to keep it.

total bargain

He won't let me haha wants to keep that and whack it in a light weight chassis! The car is fine just a scrap on the rear passenger wing and a smashed rear lamp
