Thank you for your warm welcomes, and your prompt replies, i was asked "what am doing to the pug 206gti"? to answer that is to probably make the car run more efficiently.My rally days are over am afraid:lol: all i need now is to locate those items mentioned in your "Air intake fix", bare in mind the last time i really tinkered with cars was on my Renault Dauphine back in 68 thats AD not BC:toung: ok so if you point me to a general or specific parts or kit to purchase
would be much appreciated

Plumbers merchants usually yield suitable parts and fixings. You just need to be inventive and take your time planning it carefully. A lot of people mock up intakes with cardboard to get an idea on space etc (Don't run the engine with a cardboard intake though as it will compress!)
 
plumber merchants would be a good idea, pvc is an ideal intake material as it is smooth and it doesn't corrode, plus it is cheap..
