suicide doors

I currently own a Honda Element, looking for a new vehicle. I need suicide doors as I am a wheelchair user, and the door setup allows me to toss my chair behind the drivers seat with ease. So as most vehicles lack such a setup, I need to do a drivers side, rear suicide door modification. I’m rather ignorant of what exactly a modification of this nature would entail however, so maybe if anyone has some general advice as to where to start, I’d be rather grateful. I am looking at the Toyota RAV4 and Subaru Outback as options.

What about the Peugeot 5008 - the sliding rear door can be quite useful.

It needs the hinge moving to the rear, and a new catch and lock mechanism fitting. A good body shop/custom shop near you should be able to help you out with that. There is a bit of welding and cutting needed and you'll need stronger hinges as the rear part of the door is usually narrower so they have to carry more weight as they are closer together.
