steering shudder

just bought 91 gto non turbo and when going slowly the steering fights with me and shudders.Theres plenty of fluid in it does anyone have any ideas?:blink:

What condition is the pump/belt in?

Found the problem the belt is slack and it wont tension so think it must be stretched will order a new belt and try that.Thanks!

Depending upon rack type fitted it may be the rack itself, if the fluid isn't flowing as it should then you may get this type of effect. The rotary valve might be blocked or requiring a clean?
