Does anybody know how to get rid of the speed restrictor on a 99 maxima some peolple know it as governor? Is it a DIY job ?

I thought this was within the cars ECU so if that were the case it would need to be remapped.

Not yet but by the time i get to do it i'll have a cold air intake and a complete new exhaust with a sports cat, im not sure i'm doing it yet but i was curious on how to do it. Is there any downs to doing it with the mods i planed?
There shouldn't be any downside to you removing the limiter. Just make sure your tyres, suspension and Brakes are all in tip top condition.
