Recently I have given my 900i a valve grind and fitted a new timing chain. Now it starts and runs well but also trails a cload of whitish smoke out the tail pipe.
Dont have a clue where the source of the smoke is, but it must be from combustion, so has anyone else got an answer?

Greetings and a Warm Welcome to our TorqueCars Forum my Friend!

Good to have you along with us :)

Is it the turbo version of the 900? Does the white smoke only appear after starting and does it eventually go away or does it remain? I would do a cylinder compression test to eliminate this first. Sometimes if the car has been standing a while condensation can build up in the exhaust and give the white smoke like appearance until it has burnt off. Or another case scenario it could be coolant water coming out the exhaust which may be an indication that the cylinder head gasket is going or gone and or there maybe a crack in the cylinder head. Just a few ideas as to a possible cause, I do hope it proves to be something silly.
