hi all

i have a 2000 ford ka and i have started to get holes in the sills. i have got some new ones. what is the best way off fitting them.

thanks

just to add to waynnes post they need to be cut out first then welded back in place then rust prevention coatings (usually stone chip)
a good garage/mobile mechanic should charge no more than £100-200

if the sills have gone then most likey the bottoms of the rear wheel arches have gone as well

also look at the top of the rear inner ach behind the bumper as they rot there

am doing one at the min one side is being patched up the other side is having a new sill and half a arch comes to about 350

and no spot welds has to be welded all the way along non stop

would you be able to do it your self if you are a compentent welder?

i have already needed to weld the rear arches an also the boot floor. also what would be the best remerdy for rust around the fuel filler cap.

any suggestions would be great.

thanks

not really sure about your car speedy.
but my experience with my nova and astra was if the filler cap had rust bubbles around it. it was time for a new rear quarter or a replacement filler cap panel.
