Signs of a failing DMF

What things do you have to look out for to see signs of a failing DMF?

Has anyone on here actually had a failed DMF or have you replaced it before you got any problems?

Do worn DMF's behave differently to new ones or is it a matter of them just failing to work suddenly?

You will often get a rocking sensation at idle speed and significant vibration at other engine speeds. Don't leave it. Get it fixed. If it breaks apart you can do untold damage to the housing and gearbox
