Should banned drivers resit their test

Do you think that when a driver is banned then there should be a mandatory retest before they qualify to get their licence back?

I already thought that banned drivers needed to retest. I know two people who have been banned and they both needed to retest.

I wonder if this only applies in certain circumstances at the moment. Don't suppose you know why they were banned or for how long?

I seem to recall that new drivers who get a ban have to take another test.

One had only had licence for 18 months and both were banned for excessive speed.
The common factor was speed, I wonder if that's the trigger.

I think the 18 month licence was the thing here. I'll try and did something up which shows the current sentencing guidelines.

I would have thought that the question was a "no brainer" and having to be retested may get them to re think their attitude to the rules as well as the safety of all road users.
