Skoda Fabia vRS
Hi. Hopefully in the next few months I will be getting a new car. A Skoda Fabia vRS and I can't wait. I am already planning my Modifications for the car and had a lot of good advice from the people on a skoda forum which have loads of good advice if you own a Skoda or any other VW Group car. Things I am thinking of doing so far (when funds are available) are:

# Eibach Pro Springs - Lowered to 35mm
# Jabbasport Rear Anti Roll Bar
# New headunit with upgraded speakers, sub and an amp

And when I'm feeling up to it (and when I'm older and it doesn't cost too much to insure with one) a remap from 130 to 190bhp and an upgraded clutch.

But while on the net yesterday I came across this company
http://www.theseatsurgeons.com/metadot/index.pl

Seat Surgeons mainly reupholster for dealers but will do general public also. Ive seen a few done and look really good. It isn't cheap - Most cost around £500 for all the seats to be done. But they can also do the door cards and you have far too much choice in designs, colours and stitching colours. Look at the gallery, loads of good examples there.

As for those of you who don't know in a Fabia vRS the seats are white which are gonna be a nightmare to keep clean. Most use seat covers but a few reupholster which does look good i think. Here are a few pics.

Standard Interior
Black Leather
Door

So had anyone used them on here or even heared of them? General consensus on Briskoda is that it's really nice when done and brings a level of class to the car. I just want your guys opinions on doing it.

Thanks

never heard of them but i dont think £500 bad for a retrim in leather. ive been trying to find a leather interior for a while and looking at around £1500 second hand

Looks like a good job. Of your parts I would hesitate with the rear anti roll bar. They can actually make cornering in the wet a lot worse, and lets face it WET is what our weather does the best!

How do you mean worse? If the Fabia is anything like my Polo for handling it understeers like a pig in the wet. I hoped the Rear anti roll bar would hope to correct this, just as long as I don't go too fast and lift off the throttle in a tight bend.

In the wet the roll actually forces the rear inside wheel to dig in more and gives you more grip. With a roll bar the weight is spread across the 2 rear wheels more evenly and it will be more prone to slide. In the dry this is a completely different story though!

Best thing to do in the wet is to get some nice tyres like Michelin Pilots or Goodyear Eagle F1's.

didnt know if u knew but the lasts of the fabias were only in racing blue and were special edition...they came with leather, so that could be a option, or if ur like me and got the white ones i use trefalgar apple foam cleaner, works amazingly, and whil wet iv got some snap-on seat covers......btw when i read this thread i thought it was SEAT tuning specialists lol...SE-AT surgeons

I didn't realise that - another great tip JSW888 (nice to have you along and welcome to TorqueCars!)

There's three reasons why I can have the Special Edition:

  • I can't get insurance on one which is weird. the standard one for me is £790
  • All vRS's made in 2006 on all had the BLT engine and not the old ASZ engine so it conformed with the Euro IV emissions. Some owners have experienced engine hesitation with this engine due to a new gasket on the EGR valve. Some have had success in fixing it others not so lucky. It's really hit or miss. (And before anyone says it is engine hesitation and not turbo lag.)
  • I can't afford it :(
Also don't suppose you could give me a link for this cleaner?
