I've got a Rover 100 Kensington 1.1i I have no tuning knowledge and basic knowledge of engines and the general mechanics of a car. I wanted to know if its possible to get a little bit more from the engine or improve general performance for no more than couple of hundred pounds. Also I want a little information about "chipping" the engine. Some people tell me it does make a difference whilst others say that it increases fuel flow to the engine but not air flow so does no good at all. Are there any chips I could get that would improve the cars performance?

Welcome to Torque Cars Ridge, your best bet is to concentrate on the handling, by fitting GTi antiroll bars & dampers, while individualising the suspension cones & lowering the car (by modifying the cones) will make the world of difference.

Loosing some weight out of the car will also help ;)

The only other option is to swap the engine to 1.4/1.6 mpi or go nuts & go the 1.8VVC route like me, though I cheated & paid someone else to fit mine! :embarrest:
